SCHEDULE:

Day 1: Kunming. Airport pickup and city tour.

 

Day 2-6: Xishuangbanna. Ancient Tea Plantation, tea garden, step-by-step Pu-er making, green/Black Tea Tour, Dai Minority Garden,etc.

 

Day 7-10:Lijiang—Shangarila. Tea Horse Road,  Tibetan Village, Yak Butter Tea, Ganden Sumtsenling Monastery etc.

 

Day 11:   Kunming. City Tour and airport drop off.

DESCRIPTION:

In this tour, we will trace the ancient tea-horse road, an old trade route between Yunnan and Tibet.

 

We will start the tour with pickups at Kunming Changshui International Airport (Code:KMG), visit some famous sight and sip some Pu-er tea.

 

Next, we will travel to Xishuangbanna(origin of the tea-horse road) to explore various famous ancient tea plantations, visit tea market and of course drink lots of Pu-er tea.

Then, we to go to a tea farm and experience first hand in Pu-er making. We will watch and learn step by step of processing Pu-er tea and make our own Pu-er cake. In Xishuangbanna, we will also visit some Dai minority site and embrace local culture.

 

Then, we will travel to Lijiang Old Town(UNESCO World Heritage Site) and see the scenery along the tea-horse road. Riding the horse on part of the tea-horse road by day, enjoy a great nightlife at night.

 

We will continue our tour to Shangri-la, last stop before the highlands of Tibetan Plateau. Having some Yak Butter tea with a Tibetan tea ceremony and go worship the Tibetan Buddhism in Ganden Sumtseling Monastery.

 

We will travel back to Kunming and end our tour with drop-offs at Kunming Airpot.

 

PRICE INCLUDES:

All local transportation, all meals, all hotels($500 extra for single room supplement) and all entry fees to events and museums of the scheduled tour.

 

PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE:

Airfare to and from Kunming, visas, immunizations, and tips are not included.

 

DON'T FORGET:

Please bring multiple layers of clothes and comfortable shoes as some tea gardens have a lower temperature than the city and hard to walk in heels.

 

TOUR FLEXIBILITY :

Tea productions are very much weather permitting. If the weather is not optimal, we would make a few schedule change, though we expect the possibility of covering all the tea tours within this timeframe is very high. Please keep an open mind, we will do everything possible to make sure this tour meets or even exceeds, your expectation.
